Use the following guide to calculate your total daily water needs:
At Rest: 2L per adult per day 1L per child per day
During Periods of Exertion: 3L per adult per day 2L per child per day
Dogs: 30ml per pound per day (ex: a 20 lb. dog has a 600ml per day requirement)
Cats: 500ml per day
So, add up all the daily needs for your household and add 25% for cooking, cleaning, brushing teeth, etc. Use this figure as a starting point and adjust up/down after a few days of testing. Then, post your TOTAL daily water needs somewhere VISIBLE to the group so you don't fall behind in your water sourcing/purifying duties.
Hope this helps!
